Let Them Eat Cake

How about a slice of cake? This one I created from a template I found on the internet. I decorated it with different papers and then just started loading on the embellishments. The box even opens from the back - if I can make a number more it will be fun to give a gift in one. And there are no calories!

Postcard Swap

I've signed up for three swaps this month! Am I crazy or what? Because I am also trying to get ready for my cruise on April 2nd, but nonetheless I have had a great time creating for my swap partners. The first swap I am in is a mail art postcard swap hosted by Natalea from Kandeland at http://www.kandeland.typepad.com/. There are 14 of us and we send each other postcards, so I should receive 13 postcards in return. Here are my postcards that I will be addressing and sending out today!

Easter Chickie

I found this lovely little glittered Easter Chickie at Michaels. And he (or maybe she) fits just right on this wonderful little pedestal that I picked up at the Chateau de Fleur show in Fallbrook a few weeks ago. The pedestal was made out of glass votive holder that was painted and glittered and then topped with a chipboard top covered in vintage music paper. I can't wait to create some pedestals of my own!

Here Comes The Circus Train!

This month was a circus theme at our monthly aRt** pArTy!!* at Stamping Details. For our swaps we all created circus trains. I am amazed at how everyone created wonderful cars and when they were put together they make a fabulous train! This car was designed by our lovely hostess for the month - Rosa.

This car was made by Ginger - she used an old circus flier that her boyfriend gave her.

This train was created by Lorraine. She used vintage little girl clowns and bingo numbers.

Our newest member Vicki made this car out of a salt container!

This car is the original Rosa showed us to get us started.
And the Car below was created by Mary Ann. It is a lovely concoction of pastel goodies.

And finally, this is mine - a vintage clown on a pedestal in front of paper curtains.

Winter Formal

My daughter Cassidy and her boyfriend Mateo headed off to Winter Formal last weekend, held at a hotel in La Jolla. I really can't beleive she is a senior in HS already. This is such a sad year for me. Her boyfriend Mateo is such a sweetheart and they looked like such a cute couple all dressed up!

Chateau de Fleurs

Lorraine and I headed up to Fallbrook today to a wonderful vintage marketplace, Chateau de Fleurs. The venue was a farmhouse close to town and the vendors were numerous and fabulous, not to mention the absolutely beautiful weather San Diego delivered for the day. You will have to visit Lorraine's blog overtherainbeau.blogspot.com for some additional beautiful photos. Unfortunately my camera is on the outs due to a glass of champage being dumped on it, so I only ended up with a few decent photos. On the way out of town we ended up at a nursery in Fallbrook that was just as wonderful as the show. I can't wait till their next show in June!
