Marie Antoinette ATCs

I was so excited to get an invitation last month to join the Marie Antoinette Mail Art group(MAMA).  It is a group of wonderful artists that join together for creative inspiration, encouragement and to swap various mediums of French themed art.  Thank you so much my wonderful girlfriend Lorraine for your recommendation! I just love Marie Antoinette and anything French, and my visit to Versailles in October only took my passion for these subjects to a level of obsession.  (Just ask my husband, who is entirely sick of hearing about this!)

These ATCs are for the first swap that I have joined, the Rosey Marie ATC swap.  The requirements were to include roses and Marie into an ATC.   I can't wait to see what the other members have created!

A special Bonjour to my Pink Saturday visitors!

Paper Whimsy Valentines Day 5

Happy Valentines Day!
Today marks my last day of sharing my Paper Whimsy Valentines Day cards from the fantastic swap that I was lucky enough to pe a part of.  If you scroll down you will be able to see my last 4 posts, which will allow you to see all of the wonderful treats that I have been receiving in my mail box.

Today's creations are just lovely!  The first card has the sweetest girl sitting in a gold heart.  This was made by Carolyn Huber.  The little girl is wearing a gold heart necklace that says "believe" on it.  I just love it.  The next creation is the work of Sandy Scholz, of Germany.  Can you believe I received a Valentine from Germany?  Sandy's card is beautiful, embellished with pearls and German scrap.  And the bottom card was created by Julie Loeschke.  Her sweet Whimsy lady has wings in the shape of a heart.

All of these cards were so well thought out and each swap participant really put time into their creations.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing them, and I wish you a happy, happy Valentine Day!

Paper Whimsy Valentines Day 4

Look at today's beauties!  Can you believe my mailbox was filled with these lovely creations almost every day for a week?  The top Valentine was designed by Allison Kissling.  I just love her use of crepe paper.  The next Valentine came from the talented Wendy Aspinall.  I've been in a number of swaps with Wendy and her creations are always amazing.  And the last Valentine was made by Trish Duncan.  She made a pocket out of the card portion and included this lovely tag inside for us to pull out. So cute.  I LOVE them all!

Paper Whimsy Valentines Day 3

Aren't these Valentines gorgeous!  The top lovely was created by Heather Corn.
It was created on a piece of chipboard.  The roses paper is just so beautiful and
the Paper Whimsy image she chose really topped it off.

The next card was from Mary Ann Severin.  I love her collage, and the
"to my valentine" envelope was such a cute addition.

I feel really lucky to have been in this swap.  I can't believe how wonderful
the art has been!

I am linking this to Seasonal Sundays.

Whimsy Valentines Day 2

These fabulous Valentines are two of the 10 I received from the wonderful Paper Whimsy Valentines Swap.  It was just so fun to find these in my mailbox!  The first one is from Chris Thuerk, and the next one is from Lorraine Beaumont.  These Whimsy ladies are such a talented bunch, and I always love swapping with them.  Happy Valentines Day!

Announcing: Paper Whimsy 5 Days of Valentines

I entered into a fabulous Mail Art swap with Paper Whimsy where we each created 11 Valentines and sent them to each other.  It was just like being in grade school again, and I recieved so many beautiful Valentines! These are the Valentines that I created for the Whimsy ladies.   I started with a dress template and embellished it with some of my favorite scrapbook papers.  The "Embrace Life" paper strip at the bottom of the dress was actually from a bag of confetti I purchased years ago at Pier One.  I used the sweet little ladies from collage images on the PW site.  And finally, I wrapped the dress in pattern paper and finished it off with a flower and some ribbon.

If you stay tuned for my 5 days of Valentines, you will see the lovely pieces that I recieved from the wonderfully creative ladies who participated.  I hope you enjoy them!

And, a very happy Pink Saturday to all of the wonderful visitors that have made their way here from Beverly's lovely link party!

Valentines

I created these Valentines for a card swap at my Art Party Club at the local stamping store.  They are created with the Rachel Ashwell card blanks from Michaels dollar bins.  I used the envelope to create a pocket to hold the tag.  The sweet little girls are from Paper Whimsy.

I just love Valentines, and I wish the Valentine season was as long as the Christmas season!  This is my 5th Valentine swap that I signed up for this season, and it was actually hard to find supplies in advance.  Why is it that the Christmas decorations now come out in September, a full four months before the date, and the Valentines supplies weren't even out at the beginning of January?

Altered Heart Altoid Tin Swap

Once again, I am so happy that Wendy Aspinall of Bliss Angels hosted another fabulous swap.  This one was to alter a heart shaped Altoid tin.  After searching and searching for the heart shaped tins, and after sending my friends all over the west coast on searches also, CVS finally got them in last week.  Here is my creation for my swap partner Mina.  I decoupaged the tin with some fabulous napkins that I found, one of which that has French music on it.  I then added a vintage music paper yoyo and other embellishments.  For the inside of the tin I made a heart shaped banner out of papers and added crepe paper yoyos and glitter and glittered letters to spell LOVE. Wendy's swaps are always wonderful as she is such an organized and encouraging hostess, and the participants are always very creative.  I hope that my friends from Pink Saturday enjoy seeing this swap creation.  Stay tuned for my gift from Mina!  And have a very Happy Valentines Day!
